Role as a Trainee Primary Teacher:

Your journey begins as a Teaching Assistant, where you’ll gain firsthand experience supporting students and working alongside outstanding teachers. This preparatory phase ensures you’re fully equipped to transition into teacher training by Easter or September 2025.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Teaching Assistant Role:

* Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery, ensuring engaging and inclusive learning experiences.

* Providing one-on-one and small group interventions to support students’ progress, particularly in Maths, English, and Science.

* Preparing learning resources and contributing to classroom management.

* Assisting with extracurricular activities and broader school events to gain a holistic understanding of school life.

* Transitioning to Teacher Training:

* Shadowing and observing experienced teachers to develop effective teaching strategies.

* Taking on increasing responsibilities, including leading lessons under guidance.

* Engaging in the school’s tailored professional development sessions to prepare for your PGCE.

* This phased approach allows you to build confidence, knowledge, and teaching skills in a supportive environment before stepping into the classroom as a trainee teacher.
