Standby Healthcare are working in partnership with one of our clients to help recruit for a Care Assistant to be based in an established 59+ bed Elderly and Dementia residential home.

You will be joining an an established team within a highly supportive environment This is a hugely rewarding where you will make positive difference to the lives of their residents. Fantastic opportunity to join a lead provider or elderly and dementia care.

We have day or night shifts available, 38.5 hours per week, 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am.

Benefits

* 33 hours per week - Day Shifts 8am to 8pm or night shifts 8pm to 8am

Responsibilities

* Provide the highest quality of care to residents

* Undertake the role of key-worker with a group of residents under the supervision of a senior member of staff and to assist in the admission of residents.

* Support the Home Manager in the duties of ‘Responsible Officer’ for the Home under all statutory requirements, legislation and in-house practice. This will include maintaining relevant records, logs and other documents as necessary and the issue and control of medications for which the Home has taken responsibility.

* Assist in the development of activities for residents in which they can join and which will enhance their quality of life, developing ways where residents with special support needs can lead a fulfilling life.

* As delegated by the Home Manager to administer medication in accordance with the Medication Policy.

* Participate fully in staff training and development activities, particularly care planning and key working.

Requirements

* Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care/equivalent.

* Must be willing to complete level 3

* Previous care experience or experience of working with people.

* People management experience able to provide examples of leading a shift/deputising for Manager.

* Medication administration experience.
