Position Overview:
An exciting opportunity to work for a large organisation who employ over 5000 members of staff with a continuous vision to be a strong international and independent engineering and consultancy firm, leading in innovation and sustainability.
The organisation has been operating for nearly 150 years and have expertise in Aviation, Buildings, Energy, Industry, Infrastructure, Maritime, Urban Development and Water. My client is currently looking for a Principal Drainage Engineer to be based in Manchester or London.
The team are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal Civil Drainage Engineer to join the team in either London or Manchester. In this role, you will lead small teams on multiple projects, utilizing your expertise in InfoDrainage and Civil 3D to develop and deliver high-quality drainage solutions. You will also be responsible for writing and checking Drainage Strategies, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
·Project Leadership: Lead and manage small teams of engineers and technicians on a variety of drainage projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
·Design and Analysis: Utilize InfoDrainage and Civil 3D software to design and model drainage systems, including stormwater management, foul water drainage, and surface water systems.
·Strategy Development: Write and review comprehensive Drainage Strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
·Quality Assurance: Check and approve designs, calculations, and reports prepared by junior team members, ensuring accuracy and technical excellence.
·Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing technical advice and updates on project progress.
·Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with local authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and implementation.
·Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all drainage designs and strategies comply with local, national, and international regulations and guidelines.
·Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, supporting their professional development.
·Sustainability Focus: Promote sustainable drainage solutions that align with environmental objectives and enhance community resilience.
Qualifications and Skills:
·Education: A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A master's degree or professional qualifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer status) are highly desirable.
·Experience: Extensive experience in civil drainage engineering, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing multiple projects.
·Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in InfoDrainage and Civil 3D software is essential.
·Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop innovative solutions.
·Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely to clients and stakeholders.
·Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in team management and project coordination.
·Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
·Client Focus: Strong client-facing skills, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and building long-term relationships
