Do you have experience working in a precision engineering environment? We have an opportunity for an experienced Manual Machinist to join a world leading manufacturer of high precision mechanical products at their site based in Leek, Staffordshire.

What’s on offer?

* £15.00 per hour (higher rates available D.O.E)

* Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm / Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm

* Overtime available

* 28 days holiday

* Christmas shutdown period

* Yearly attendance bonus

* In-house training courses

What will you be doing as a Manual Machinist?

* Learning how to read and understand technical drawings

* Developing accurate marking out skills

* Understanding the capabilities of the various machine shop equipment

* Learning how to drill and tap through blind holes

* Using digital and analogue measuring equipment (verniers, micrometres etc)

* Learning how to operate centre lathes and milling machines

* Understanding the techniques required to machine different materials

* Developing an eye for detail and self-checking finished work dimensions

What do you need?

* Previous experience in a precision engineering manufacturing environment

* Familiarity for precision measuring equipment

* An understanding of how to make and alter fixtures and jigs

* The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
