Key Responsibilities:

Breast Imaging and Screening: Perform high-quality mammographic screening, breast ultrasound, and image-guided biopsies for the diagnosis and management of patients with suspected or confirmed breast cancer. Ensure imaging procedures are performed accurately and in line with clinical protocols.

Clinical Expertise: Provide expert interpretation of breast screening results, including mammograms, ultrasounds, and biopsy specimens. Discuss findings and contribute to the clinical decision-making process for the management of patients.

Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration: Collaborate with oncologists, breast surgeons, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case reviews.

Breast Screening Program Management: Contribute to the efficient delivery of the breast screening program by ensuring timely and accurate imaging, follow-up, and referral for further diagnostic procedures as required. Ensure compliance with national screening guidelines and quality standards.

Patient Care and Communication: Communicate results to patients and provide clear, empathetic explanations of findings, next steps, and treatment options. Address patient concerns and ensure they are informed and supported throughout the screening process.

Clinical Leadership and Supervision: Provide clinical leadership and support to junior radiologists, radiographers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Offer guidance, supervision, and education to junior staff and trainees in breast imaging techniques and interpretation.

Audit, Research, and Service Improvement: Participate in clinical audits, research initiatives, and service development projects to ensure the continuous improvement of breast screening services. Contribute to the development of new protocols and best practices in breast imaging and screening.

Quality Assurance and Safety: Ensure that all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and functioning according to quality assurance standards. Adhere to health and safety protocols, infection control measures, and regulatory requirements.

Continuing Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including attendance at relevant training, courses, and conferences, to stay up to date with advancements in breast radiology, imaging technologies, and screening guidelines
