The Role:

The Panel Wirer/Fitter will be responsible for the assembly, wiring, and fitting of electrical components for power distribution equipment. Working from scratch, the role involves preparing materials, interpreting electrical layout drawings and schematic wiring, and ensuring the highest quality of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Fitting and wiring of various types of electrical equipment, including distribution and power components for the marshalling department.

+ Preparing materials by studying assembly instructions, gathering parts and tools, and reading schematics and parts lists.

+ Assembling components by checking connections for correct fit, crimping, looming, and cable terminating for control panels.

+ Glanding, terminating, and fitting SWA cables, as well as cutting and fitting tray work for cable runs.

+ Maintaining high standards of product quality and ensuring orders meet customer requirements.

+ Completing paperwork for work orders, reporting issues, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

+ Using workshop machinery, hand tools, and general fitting tools effectively.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

+ Essential hands-on experience with electrical assembly and wiring of control panels.

+ Practical experience within an electrical or mechanical engineering environment.

+ Proficiency in cable end termination (crimping, soldering).

+ Electrical qualifications and knowledge of electrical regulations.

+ Ability to read and understand schematic drawings.

+ Strong attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills.

+ Experience in a collaborative working environment, ideally with exposure to continuous improvement practices.

+ Flexibility to support other departments as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour
