Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant
Location: Cambridge, UK
Position Type: Full or Part-time

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and supportive team in Cambridge. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who have a variety of additional needs, helping to provide them with a positive and inclusive learning experience. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with diverse learning needs and making a real difference in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning experiences for students with special educational needs.
Support individual and small groups of students, providing targeted support to help them engage with the curriculum.
Implement and support individual learning plans (IEPs), ensuring students' needs are met in the classroom.
Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
Help students with personal care needs and promote their independence and social development.
Collaborate with other professionals, including SENCo, therapists, and external agencies, to ensure a holistic approach to each student's development.
Foster a nurturing and supportive environment where students feel safe, valued, and confident.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a deep commitment to supporting their individual needs. You should have experience working with students with additional learning needs, either in a school or similar educational setting. We are particularly looking for someone who is patient, adaptable, and ready to make a positive impact on students' learning and well-being.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) or additional needs (desired but not essential).
A positive, empathetic attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of relevant SEN strategies and approaches (training will be provided).
An understanding of safeguarding practices and the ability to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
