Chris Burgess Consult and Recruit Ltd are working in a consultancy capacity to find a Painter and Decorator / Multitrader for a private Chartered Building Company in Suffolk, located in the Bury St Edmunds / Ipswich area for works in Suffolk and north Essex.

Our client operates across Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk, predominantly undertaking customer care works under the NHBC standards in occupied homes on behalf of housebuilding companies. This work is pre-booked and organised by the customer care coordinators in the office and undertaken by their team of skilled operatives.

The company is focused on delivering professional customer care, aftersales service on behalf of some of the UK’s leading housebuilders and contractors. The owner has extensive experience within the housebuilding industry and is an NHBC award-winning Project Manager. The culture of the company is very professional and supportive. There is an Operations Manager who leads the customer care department.

The opportunity they are offering is for a multi-skilled tradesperson with specific skills in painting and decorating to work within the skilled team, predominantly in Suffolk and north Essex, ensuring works are carried out to the required standard.

The role has duties including

* Painting and Decorating

* Basic Carpentry

* Basic tiling

* Patch plastering / making good

* Other general small building works

Other skills required include

* Customer service focus

* Communication

* Consideration when working in people’s homes

This role would suit an operative located in the Bury / Ipswich area, with experience of working in occupied homes, either for housebuilders, building and maintenance companies. A trade CSCS card would be advantageous. The role would suit someone with a strong all-round knowledge of the building/maintenance industry and good communication and customer service skills.

The role offers competitive salary/day rate, travel allowance and the opportunity to work for a respected Chartered Building Company. The company are open to PAYE and self-employed candidates.
