Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team in the construction and fit-out sector.

The Estimator will be responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates, analysing project requirements, and providing competitive pricing strategies for construction and fit-out projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring profitability and supporting successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities Estimating and Tender Preparation • Review project specifications, drawings, and client requirements to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates. • Develop tender documentation, including detailed cost breakdowns and pricing submissions. • Identify potential risks, constraints, and opportunities within the project scope. Cost Analysis and Budgeting • Source and negotiate prices with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure competitive rates. • Prepare cost plans and budgets for projects during the pre-construction phase. • Monitor market trends, material prices, and labour costs to maintain up-to-date cost data. Collaboration and Communication • Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to clarify project requirements. • Work closely with the procurement team to align cost estimates with supplier agreements. • Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings to gather relevant information. Risk Management • Identify and document project risks and provide mitigation strategies within estimates. • Ensure compliance with regulatory, health, and safety standards in all estimates. Reporting and Documentation • Maintain a comprehensive database of cost estimates, quotations, and project budgets. • Provide regular reports on estimating activities and project cost performance. • Support the handover of projects to the delivery team, ensuring all cost data is shared and understood. Skills and Qualifications Essential: • Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction or fit-out industry. • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and market trends. • Proficiency in using estimating software and tools (e.g., Causeway, Bluebeam, Excel). • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet tight deadlines. • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Desirable: • Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. • Membership with a professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB). • Familiarity with BIM and digital estimation tools. You will also receive • Working hours Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm (hours to be kept flexible around needs of the business). • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays). In addition, after one years’ service you are entitled to one extra day per year of service up to a maximum of five extra days. • Use of a company vehicle (applicants must hold a clean driver’s license). • Access to company bonus scheme (on successful completion of probationary period) • Company NEST pension scheme (on successful completion of probationary period) • Overtime where appropriate • Mobile phone • Salary: circa -£55k £60K (depending on experience/qualifications)
