We are seeking an inspirational and experienced Head Teacher to lead our primary school in Lancashire. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction, academic leadership, and operational management to ensure a high standard of education and well-being for all pupils. This role requires a dynamic and compassionate leader with a commitment to fostering an inclusive, safe, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
Vision and Direction: Develop and communicate a clear vision for the school, ensuring that staff, pupils, and parents are engaged and motivated towards shared educational goals.
Strategic Planning: Lead the creation and implementation of a robust school development plan, setting priorities to achieve continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
Policy Development: Ensure school policies and procedures are up-to-date, effective, and in line with current educational legislation and best practices.
Curriculum and Standards:
Curriculum Management: Oversee the design and implementation of a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils and complies with the national curriculum.
Standards and Achievement: Set high expectations for teaching and learning, monitor progress, and work with staff to ensure that each child achieves their full potential.
Assessment and Reporting: Oversee the assessment and reporting of pupil progress, ensuring that robust systems are in place for tracking and evaluating student performance.
Staff Development and Management:
Team Leadership: Lead, support, and develop a team of teachers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment.
Professional Development: Identify and address staff development needs, providing access to training and mentoring opportunities to promote professional growth.
Recruitment and Retention: Take an active role in the recruitment and retention of high-quality staff, ensuring the school is adequately staffed with passionate and skilled educators.
Pupil Welfare and Safeguarding:
Safeguarding Lead: Act as the school's designated safeguarding lead, ensuring that all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed, and that pupil safety and welfare are always prioritized.
Inclusive Environment: Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school culture, addressing any barriers to learning and ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
Behavior Management: Oversee the implementation of a positive behavior policy, working with staff to create a respectful and productive learning environment.
Community Engagement:
Parent and Community Relations: Build strong partnerships with parents, governors, and the wider community, promoting active involvement in school life and open communication.
Governance Reporting: Work closely with the school's governing body, providing regular updates on school performance, improvement strategies, and budget management.
External Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, educational organizations, and other schools, fostering collaboration and resource sharing.
Financial and Operational Management:
Budget Management: Oversee the school's financial resources, ensuring effective budget management and cost efficiency while prioritizing the needs of pupils.
Facilities Oversight: Ensure that school facilities are well-maintained and safe, working with staff to manage the school's physical environment effectively.
Compliance and Reporting: Ensure the school complies with all relevant statutory requirements, including health and safety, GDPR, and educational standards.
Essential Requirements:
Educational Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a primary school, such as Deputy Head or Head Teacher.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Required, with evidence of ongoing professional development.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrable skills in leading and managing a team effectively, fostering a culture of respect, achievement, and continuous improvement.
Commitment to Excellence: A strong commitment to raising standards in teaching, learning, and student welfare.
Safeguarding Expertise: Knowledge and experience of safeguarding policies and procedures, with a commitment to child protection.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) or equivalent leadership qualification.
Experience in managing school budgets and resources effectively.
Strong understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and inclusive education practices.
Experience in working with governors, parents, and the local community.
Working Hours:
Full-time position, primarily during school hours with some additional hours required for meetings, school events, and strategic planning.
