An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Welding Trainer.
The purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality welding training programs that equip students, apprentices, and employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the welding industry. Ensure all training adheres to industry standards and safety regulations while fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Conduct theoretical and practical welding training sessions.
* Evaluate trainees' performance through tests and hands-on assessments.
* Maintain and set up welding equipment for training sessions.
* Track and document trainees' progress and attendance.
* Provide feedback and support to trainees.
* Ensure the training facility is clean, safe, and well-organised.
* Create and implement comprehensive training modules that cover various welding techniques and safety practices.
* Conduct regular assessments to evaluate trainees' welding skills, providing constructive feedback and additional support where necessary.
* Ensure all welding equipment is in good working condition, performing routine checks and maintenance.
* Keep abreast of the latest developments in welding technology and industry best practices to continually improve training programs.
* Prepare training schedules, maintain accurate records of trainees’ progress, and manage training documentation.
* Work closely with other trainers and staff to ensure the continuous improvement of the training programs.
* Ensure trainees adhere to the company values and behaviours, promoting a culture of integrity, respect, and excellence.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Certified Welder with recognised certification (e.g. AWS or equivalent).
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding, with proficiency in various techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Arc welding.
* Experience in training or teaching is highly desirable.
* In-depth knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and equipment.
* Strong understanding of welding safety standards and best practices.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively teaching and providing feedback.
* Ability to foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
* Strong organisational skills for managing training schedules, records, and equipment.
* Ability to work collaboratively with other trainers and staff.
Desirable would be as follows;
* Assessor Award – A1 or AQA etc. or be willing to work towards
* Knowledge of current Apprentice standards.
Personal Skills & Attributes:
* Possess the ability to meticulously ensure training quality and safety standards are maintained.
* Can be flexible in adjusting training methods to accommodate different learning styles and staying updated with industry changes.
* Demonstrates understanding and support for trainees at various skill levels, fostering a positive learning environment.
* Takes the initiative in improving training programs and addressing issues promptly.
* Consistently reliable in fulfilling training responsibilities and maintaining equipment.
