Abatec is assisting their client, a leading civil engineering contractor, in recruiting a freelance Section Engineer for a major project on Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater.

Our client requires a Section Engineer who has worked in a similar position on major civil engineering projects and has experience in the building of complex reinforcement and formwork erection works.

As Section Engineer you will:

* Manage the programme on a weekly basis

* Supervise the main works and the Site Engineers

* Preparation / Review of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Inspection and Test Plans

* Comply with the site-specific health and safety protocols to ensure any health and safety concerns are identified and reported as necessary.

* Use software to produce sketches, update drawings or produce as-builts 3D models / drawings & verify dimensions and coordinates against 3D models to ensure setting out is correct

* Record Daily Diaries and Spray Concrete Lining quality records

Our client requires a Site Engineer with:

* Degree qualified or relevant civil engineering qualification

* Have, or is studying towards professional (MICE)

* Experience working on major civil engineering projects

* Experience in Reinforced Concrete works

* Flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights

* CSCS, SMSTS, and Driving License

Salary/Benefits:

* £450 - £500 per day PAYE
