A service engineer position has become available with a leading OEM of steel fabrication machinery.

Hugely popular in the UK as a reliable provider of brand new machinery, as well as efficient aftercare and servicing through a network of multi skilled, time served engineers. They specialize in providing steel processing solutions to clients across various manufacturing sectors, as well as a head office here in the UK for machine storage, refurbishment and distribution.

This position offers a strong basic salary up to £40K depending on experience, plus door to door payments and a great overall benefits package

Responsibilities for the role include -

Installation, Commissioning, Maintenance & Service of metal fabrication machine tools
Routine service and inspection checks to company standard
Breakdown maintenance both electrically and mechanically
Fault finding and diagnosis
Full installation, setup, levelling and geometry checks
Providing end user support to customers as well as training and demo's
Communicating with the technical helpdesk, service manager, and other engineers in the team
Use of laptop & tablet to complete all service and maintenance reports, and to submit timesheets / expenses

This role represents an excellent opportunity to work with a business that foster an amazing work culture, can demonstrate a low staff turnover especially in the service department, and will enjoy a high degree of trust to ensure jobs are completed or delivered as planned.

Engineers are expected to travel nationwide at times if they're on an installation project, but service and breakdown response is generally kept regional to where you live.

To be successful in this role you will have -

- Previous experience as a field service engineer working for a similar OEM of metal cutting machinery
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, and basic electrical repairs to machine tools, working safely with electrical circuits and wiring to swap parts like for like
- Be able to work independently on site with customers, but still work collaboratively with the team and helpdesk when needed
- Full clean drivers license

Package on offer includes -

- Basic salary of up to £40K DOE
- Paid door to door, with overtime at Time & 1/3 after 45hrs

- Overnight allowance of £25 per night plus breakfast, lunch and evening meals

- 33 days holiday including bank holidays
