Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work with children in EYFS and Key Stage 1 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is based at an inclusive primary school in Lambeth (SE17) that prides itself on creating a nurturing environment tailored to the individual needs of its pupils. Starting in January 2025, this position offers a rewarding opportunity to support young learners in their critical early developmental stages.

Your Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN, ensuring they engage effectively with the curriculum across KS1 and EYFS.
Work closely with students with ASD, employing strategies to encourage communication, engagement, and independence
Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to implement and adapt individualised learning plans
Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that fosters growth and confidence
Monitor and document student progress, contributing to regular reviews and strategy updates
Assist with personal care and sensory needs where required, ensuring the well-being of all studentsIdeal candidate will have:

Experience working in SEN schools or supporting children with additional needs in an EYFS or KS1 setting
A patient, proactive, and compassionate approach to working with children with ASD and other SEN
Knowledge of SEN-specific strategies, including visual aids, sensory interventions, and communication tools
