Azure Data Engineer

Our client is a leading Dispensing Appliance Contractor (DAC) and provides a home dispensing service to over 60,000 clients across a wide range of products. Offering a cut-to-fit stoma product customisation service, they meet the diverse and individual needs of their clients. Our client continues to be on a journey of rapid growth and transformation. Our client provides a discreet and reliable home dispensing service through a dedicated Customer Service Team and 38 dispensing centres nationwide.
We are seeking a skilled Azure Data Engineer to oversee and manage our clients data infrastructure. This role involves ensuring data availability, creating and maintaining the data models that support our ever-evolving BI Solution, and
developing data management strategies for archiving, storing, and updating data on a predominantly Microsoft ecosystem, including Dataverse.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Management: Design and maintain SQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
Azure Synapse Management: Develop and manage data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Synapse to integrate data from various sources.
Data Integration: Utilize Microsoft Dataverse for data storage and management, ensuring seamless integration with other applications and services.
Data Quality and Accuracy: Ensure that the data stored and processed on Azure are highly accurate.
Collaboration: Work closely with analysts and stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, ETL processes, and BI solutions.
Data Strategy: Develop and implement data management strategies for archiving, storing, and updating data. As well as developing and implementing a data strategy for emerging technologies such as AI.
Skills/Technical Knowledge:
* Proficient technical knowledge of Azure Data Platform, such as:
* Azure Data Lake
* Azure Synapse Analytics
* Azure SQL Database
* Azure Data Factory
* Azure Databricks
* Good level of knowledge on Power BI
* Good understanding of Microsoft reference architectures and when they should be used.
* Working knowledge of Data Platform Design
* Understanding of data modelling and schema design principles
* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Relevant certifications in Azure or BI tools
* Experience in a cloud-based environment and familiarity with data governance practices.
* Working experience of Microsoft Dynamics (F&SCM and CE)
* Experience with Microsoft technology stack e.g. Dataverse, Power Platform etc.
* Experience with Agile delivery methods
