Our factory at Warnham specialises in making bricks.
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be part of the inhouse team who keep the gears turning and the equipment running smoothly.
This role is called a Maintenance Fitter internally.
From troubleshooting to planned preventive maintenance (PPM), you will be hands-on with specialist machinery, ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
It's a dynamic role where problem-solving skills and technical expertise are used daily, and you will be a key player contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our production processes.
Our engineers have a varied role, so youll get the chance to use a variety of maintenance skills associated with being a fitter, fabricator, welder, and service engineer.
Duties also include: Carrying out essential maintenance Assist in developing the agility maintenance system Attend breakdowns Ensure machine safety standards are upheld and critical spares are maintained Install/maintain plant machinery Improve factory overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) Promote Lean thinking Use various types of testing equipment to locate and fix faults Contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation Adhere to Wienerbergers quality system & standards in accordance with BSEN ISO 9001 We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to make sure you can work safely and effectively.
Hours of Work: 6.00am to 6.00pm on a 4 on/4off shift pattern About You You will be a mechanically biased engineer with experience working in manufacturing / factory environments, with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline.
Safety is our biggest priority, so youll be committed to safe working and have strong experience of health and safety best practice.
Youll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands-on, and being flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities will enable the factory to continue to run efficiently.
As this role is sometimes physically demanding, youll be fit enough to perform your various duties.
Youll also have Strong team playing skills Good communication (written and verbal) Good working knowledge of environment, health, and safety (EHS) processes Analytical & problem-solving skills Diagnostics experience of hydraulics, pneumatic, and drive chain fault finding Bearing fitting / alignment experience Electrical control systems experience Knowledge of cutting & grinding regulations Arc & Mig welding / basic fabrication Desirable Youll have completed a hands-on apprentice training programme HNC or HND qualification (or equivalent) Experience in heavy industry manufacturing About our Benefits Annual average salary is £38,000 (inclusive of allowances/bonuses) Weekly paid Overtime available to boost your earning potential Training and opportunities to grow your career with us Company Pension SIP ability to become a shareholder via our Share Scheme Life Assurance Flexible benefits offering (including health, wellbeing and money saving opportunities) The closing date for this role is subject to change and may be closed earlier than advertised.
