Job summary We are recruiting for a Theatre Team Manager who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.The role is part clinical and non-clinical therefore it is essential to be experienced in these areas as well to have the ability to organise, train and develop the team to address the elevated need presently and in the future.You will care for patients undergoing clinical / peri-operative procedures by leading effectively within the multi-disciplinary theatre team, and to have responsibility for the standard of service and patient care delivered.At the heart of everything we do are our core values:Include,Respect, andImprove.

Main duties of the job Maintain health, safety and the control of infection in clinical work areas.Plan, implement and evaluate the peri-operative care of patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Ensure the provision of research-based care.Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures.Store, prepare and administer prescribed drugs to patients in accordance with Trust Policy and monitor the effects of drugs on patients.Prepare, monitor and maintain materials and equipment for clinical procedures.

Person Specification Qualifications/Training Essential RGN and/or ODP Registration with NMC/HPC Evidence of continuing professional development Mentorship / preceptorship qualification Desirable Completion of relevant critical care modules at level 2 and /or level3 (Diploma/BSc) Advanced life support certificate Management qualification Appraisal management Previous Experience Essential Relevant experience at band 6 or equivalent Participation in formulation of procedures to ensure best practise Teaching and assessing Experience in a specialised area of theatre work Implementation of personal development plans Desirable Peri-operative skilled in anaesthetics, recovery and scrub Management experience Managing a team Management of more than one theatre area Experience in appraisal techniques Knowledge Essential Can implement research based practise.
Knows of patient focused approach Understands Clinical Governance Teamwork Knows how to carry out an audit and interpret and collate information and data Knowledge of DipHe ODP course and support required pre and post qualification by staff at Band 6 and below Knows the aims of the Trust Can reconcile the need for quality care with the necessity of excellent budget management Desirable Knows how to formulate and implement policy and procedure How to understand and manage budgets Skills Essential Can perform in the role of either/and/or anaesthetic assistant, scrub and circulating assistant, recovery person.
