Job Advert: Volunteer Treasurer Wanted for Buddy Bag Foundation Are you passionate about making a difference and giving back to the community?
Buddy Bag Foundation, a small charity with an annual turnover of approximately £300,000, is seeking a dedicated Treasurer to join our team.
This is an opportunity for someone who wishes to lend their expertise and time to help us improve the lives of children in need.
Role Overview: As Treasurer, you will oversee the financial affairs of the organisation, ensuring that everything is compliant with legal and accounting practices.
Your commitment to maintaining proper records and financial procedures will be crucial in supporting our mission.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the financial management of the Buddy Bag Foundation and The Buddy Bag Limited.
Ensure adherence to legal and constitutional requirements while following accepted accounting practices.
Maintain effective financial procedures and records.
Prepare sales invoices for Buddy Bag Packs team-building events.
Collaborate with our bookkeeper to keep accounting records updated on Xero, ensuring timely payments of all invoices and bills.
Perform bank account reconciliations regularly.
Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims to HMRC.
Monitor the charity's financial health and report findings to fellow Trustees.
Oversee the production of necessary financial reports, accounts, and audits.
Liaise with an Independent Examiner regarding account preparation for filing with the Charities Commission and Companies House.
Time Commitment: Approximately 3-5 hours per week.
