Job summary An outstanding opportunity for a support secretary has arisen within the Department of Orthopaedics.Would you like to take on a role that provides you with ownership of your work?
Would you like to be creative in your approach and be responsible for supporting and ensuring our patients receive the best quality of care by using your skills and experience and our Trust's values and behaviours.This post is Fixed Term for 12 MonthsHours per week: Main duties of the job To provide an efficient and effective typing and administration function to the team.
The post requires fast and accurate audio typing skills, and a sound knowledge of medical terminology.Good communication, organisational skills, and previous secretarial experience is essential as is experience of dealing with sensitive information.
Knowledge of medical terminology and previous experience using hospital based IT systems such as PAS and Medisec will be advantageous.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential 5 GCSE's or equivalent, grade C or above.
Must include English.
Typing qualifications to RSAII (Royal Society of Arts) standard.
Computer literate to (European Computer Driving License) ECDL standard or equivalent.
Desirable AMSPAR (The Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists) Diploma RSA III (Royal Society of Arts) standard Experience Essential Secretarial experience Desirable Hospital based experience Knowledge and Skills Essential Medical terminology Fast and accurate audio-typing Good communicator - able to deal with people at all levels.
Ability to handle sensitive information without compromising confidentiality or trust.
Desirable Knowledge of Medisec Experience with Patient Management System Awareness of NHS policies Other Role Requirements Essential Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification for further details.
