Job Role: Care Assistant Location - Edinburgh, Midlothian A Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting individuals with their daily living activities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
They work in various settings such as care homes, residential homes, hospitals, or clients' own homes, delivering high-quality, person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities Personal Care Assist with daily personal hygiene tasks, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Help clients with mobility, including lifting, moving, or using mobility aids like wheelchairs or hoists.
Health Monitoring Observe and record changes in the clients health or behavior.
Support with medication administration under supervision.
Emotional and Social Support Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being.
Encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
Household Assistance Help with light household tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
Ensure the environment is safe, clean, and comfortable.
Communication and Reporting Maintain accurate care records, documenting activities and observations.
Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
Skills and Qualities Required Empathy and compassion Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patience and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly Physical stamina for assisting clients with mobility Attention to detail and strong organizational skills A positive attitude and willingness to work flexibly Qualifications and Training Essential : Care Certificate Basic understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality Desirable : First Aid and CPR certification Manual Handling training Medication Administration UK driving license Working Hours Typically work on a shift basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Full-time and part-time positions are available.
