Thereception team comprises of eight reception staff across two sites.
The teamare friendly and supportive, and the role will provide you with a goodunderstanding of the The position is around 27 hours per week the working daysare Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday till The post holder will be required to work flexibly and work full timefor 7 weeks each year to cover annual leave of their co-worker and be flexibleto cover other absences.
The post holder must be available to work between thehours of 8am and 6pm Main duties of the job Reception team/Care Navigators are the first point ofcontact for patients and visitors to the surgery.
The team ensure that allenquiries are dealt with professionally and promptly.
Signposting patients requestsvia our Online Consultation portal and allocating appointments to the most appropriateservice/clinician.
The team also supports the clinicians to ensure surgeriesrun smoothly as well as undertaking a range of administrative tasks.
The postholder will be required to work flexibly to cover absences of a co-worker asrequired.
About us Supporting our patients to enjoy a healthier lifeWe will achieve our vision through quality care centred around, the patient being caring and supportive our dedicated team of professionals our commitment to teaching and training being forward thinking, embracing new evidence, guidance, best practice and innovations Job description Job responsibilities Job Responsibilities: Helpingpatients to navigate NHS and local services by providing informationSignposting and triaging patients following the patient submitting a request via our Online Consultation Portal Managingprescriptions requests in accordance with Practice policies Bookingpatient appointments with clinicians and home visits Supportingclinicians during surgeries including acting as a patient chaperone (Trainingwill be given) Givingout test results, Liaisingwith other primary and secondary care providersAccuratelyscanning of hospital letters and other clinical correspondence ontothe clinical system Keepingpatient records up-to-date and recording accurate information as appropriate includingread coding Handlingsamples in accordance with practice health and safety protocols and undertakingurine dip stick testing (full training will be provided); Patientchaperone (training will be given)Preparing the consulting rooms prior to surgery and tidying up the rooms after surgery, check stock levels of stationary and medical supplies Generalhousekeeping eg keeping reception and waiting room tidy Allocatedadministrative tasks such as Tasks on the clinical system, copying medicalnotes, handling incoming emails etc Handlingmoney for private non NHS work such as medical reports Attendingtraining events as required and monthly target meetings Anyother duties as directed by the Management team Person Specification Knowledge and Skills Essential * Good communication skills, both written and verbal * DBS Check * Competent use of IT * Ability to deal confidently and courteously with people both in person and over the telephone.
