Job summary This role will see the successful candidate working as an Occupational Therapist within the inpatient therapy team based at West Berkshire general Inpatient wards.
This is a full-time role working hours per week.
The normal working pattern is 08:30 -16:30.
The post holder will be expected to be a car driver and use their car for off-site visits and small equipment deliveries.
The therapy teams work closely to manage the inpatient beds and are a friendly approachable team.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience of all aspects of Inpatient Therapy and develop transferable skills.
Main duties of the job Full time role working across inpatient therapies Working with patient's on Donnington and Highclere wards at WBCH Completing activities which are goal focussed and aimed at promoting independence with everyday activities.
Liaising with patients' and their relatives to achieve the best outcomes in hospital and for discharge.
Delivering and fitting equipment at the patient's property (after training) Completing goal orientated therapy and outcome measures Promoting independence and helping to manage expectation Supporting patients with management of their activities of daily living About us Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist mental health and community health services trust.

Training in the equipment needs of older people Understanding of the models used in Occupational Therapy Previous Experience Essential Experience of working in a rehabilitation or intermediate care setting.
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
Experience of liaising with social Care in the UK Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Essential Be Able to demonstrate confidence in own decisions Be an excellent communicator Be a Team player Be open to change Be able to demonstrate flexibility in a work setting Computer literate Additional Requirements Essential Criminal Records Bureau (DBS) clearance Occupational Health clearance Ability to travel between multiple sites efficiently Ability to drive and have access to a car
