Role: MySQL Database Administrator Location: Oxford Salary: £55k - £65k Working Pattern: Remote / One day per month in the office Skillset: Linux / Windows / Python Summary We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join an tech development company who work to bring invention and innovation to the manufacturing industry.
The role is being offered on a permanent, full-time basis, and with a flexible hybrid working pattern.
The office is located just outside of Oxford, close to transport links.
We are looking for a proactive, strategic, and enthusiastic individual with an expertise in MySQL database experience to help the company achieve their data goals for 2025 and beyond
You'll be building solutions in addition to developing and curating new innovative strategies.

The Role The company are looking for an expert in data to design, build and improve on their existing capabilities.

You would be contributing to MySQL data and database solutions both under your own steam and within a team to deliver the optimization, security and reliability of their database system.
Responsibilities Design and implement MySQL databases in a Linux environment Monitor database performance for efficient data retrieval, and identify areas for improvement Implement and manage database security measures Take responsibility for database backup and recovery Perform database maintenance upgrades, migrations, and patch management Perform regular updates to ensure system stability Enforce best practices across the wider team Mentor and advise junior team members Essential Skills MySQL Server Linux PostgresSQL / Oracle Python / Bash An enthusiasm for keeping up to date with latest IT trends and technologies Next Steps If you have a range of experience in MySQL database administration and management, and you are looking to progress with an organisation that has a fantastic approach to work in a thriving and ambitious environment, then look no further - this is the role for you
