Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Dietetic team at Colchester Hospital.
The role offers the opportunity to work within a variety of different specialist areas including oncology, stroke, gastroenterology and surgery.
There is support to learn specialist skills in a variety of different clinical areas.
The post holder will work within Colchester General Hospital with an acute caseload, a weekly outpatient clinic and time with their specialist rotation.
There may also be opportunities to gain experience in paediatric and renal dietetics.
We have an established student training programme in which you will be involved and there are opportunities to contribute to audits and service development and to receive training to build your CPD portfolio.
This is a fixed term role until 30/04/2025 Main duties of the job Surgical/ Gastro/ Critical Care Rotation To provide an in-patient service by advising on the management and treatment of adult patients on surgical, gastroenterology, medical, orthopaedic and Care of the Elderly wards.
To gain knowledge in all factors involved in complex decision-making around nutrition support, as well as nutrition in critical illness.
This may include cover of Critical care with support from Specialist Dietitians.
Oncology Rotation To work with Specialist Dietitians within Oncology to provide an inpatient and outpatient service to oncology patients and provide additional support as required.
To provide an in-patient service by advising on the management and treatment of adult patients on oncology, medical, orthopaedic and Care of the Elderly wards at Colchester Hospital.
Medical/ Stroke Rotation To provide an in-patient service by advising on the management and treatment of adult patients on stroke, medical, orthopaedic and Care of the Elderly wards at Colchester Hospital.
To provide an outpatient service to adult patients at Colchester Hospital and community locations Community Rotation Care for patients in a 1:1 setting in own homes, care homes or outpatient clinics, community hospitals or in group education settings.
