GSL Education are looking for Complex Needs Support Workers in Scunthorpe to provide essential support to children and young people with diverse needs.
Responsibilities of the Complex Needs Support Worker: Provide support to children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, and complex medical needs.
Collaborate with family members, medical professionals, and school leadership to develop and implement a student-centred service plan addressing their social, emotional, and developmental needs.
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other specialists to execute individualised education and care plans effectively.
Partner with class teachers to enhance sensory, speech, language, and communication development.
Manage classroom behaviour by identifying triggers and employing de-escalation techniques to create a positive learning environment.
Utilise specialised equipment and techniques to facilitate students' learning and development.
Requirements of the Complex Needs Support Worker: Relevant qualifications in health and social care or a related field (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care).
Experience working with children or young adults with complex needs in an educational or care setting.
Be a strong and engaging communicator.
Be compassionate and caring and have a genuine desire to help young people overcome their barriers.
Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
