If you're ready to be part of something big and help shape the future of broadcasting, we want to hear from youMain ResponsibilitiesWorking on a shift pattern 7 day week, (0500 – 2300) Operations Engineers are responsible for all aspects of technical support in BBC Scotland Key responsibilities are: • Using a diverse range of broadcast and production monitoring tools to identify and resolve complex service impacting issues across a range of technologies and platforms.
• Initiate response to service disruption and support proactive measures aimed at preventing recurrence.
• Accurate logging of incidents accurately including technical response and action taken.
• Implementing contingency procedures in response to planned or unexpected events.
• Handover of incident and information across shift changes.
• Keep informed of operational changes ensuring that actions are taken in line with best practice.
• Good communication skills; Able to explain information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ensure the Health and Safety at Work Act, Working Time Directive and other workplace legislation is observed; responsible for ensuring risk assessments are followed, and escalated where appropriate; responsible for ensuring appropriate method statements are reviewed and fit for purposeAre you the right candidate?You will be a pro-active self-starter.

You will demonstrate: • Engineering experience with broadcast software and systems used in content production and playout• Or operational experience of working in an engineering support team• Experienced in diagnosing faults and repairing equipment• Communication: you are able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
You must know how to listen actively and extract the necessary information.
• Accountability: you take the responsibility to achieve the set goals and take initiative without being told what to do.
• Problem solving orientation: you are able to identify and analyse an/a existing/potential problem and find suitable solutions for each situation.
