Job Description As a Class 1 LGV Driver for our Transport Department, you will be responsible for executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide.
This role requires a high level of professionalism and commitment to safety standards.
Key responsibilities include: Operating and maintaining a modern fleet of vehicles in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Adhering strictly to agreed shift patterns to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
Executing deliveries to HGV-friendly locations with precision and attention to detail.
Performing trailer swaps or overseeing live unloading and reloading processes, as per individual customer requirements.
Ensuring all necessary documentation is accurately completed and maintained for each journey.
Conducting thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles to guarantee roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
Representing DPD professionally at all times, maintaining a courteous and respectful demeanour with customers and colleagues.
Promptly reporting any incidents, accidents, or concerns to the appropriate supervisory staff.
Continuously updating knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in LGV operations.
Participating in mandatory training sessions to enhance skills and maintain required certifications.
This role demands a high degree of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence in all aspects of LGV operations.
