Person Specification Qualifications Essential Time served Apprenticeship or Adult training City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations or equivalent JIB Apprenticeship or equivalent BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Adequate knowledge of general Engineering, electrical and other trades' principles for multi-skilling Desirable City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing PAT Testing Qualification Competent Person LV (HTM 06-02) Knowledge/Experience Essential Proof of having worked within a complex property/building Proven competency within an electrical field of engineering Completion of a structured training programme in Electrical Engineering Intermediate level of theoretical knowledge and practices due to complexity of plant and machinery Desirable Low Pressure Hot Water systems Steam Raising Plant Pneumatic systems Hydraulic Systems Experience of working in an Acute Hospital environment.
Confined space trained Working at Heights trained Skills Essential Able to speak and understand English to receive and issue instructions orally and in writing on a daily basis without risk of misunderstanding Able to provide and receive both complex and routine information to/from colleagues on a daily basis Able to give technical information to lay persons using appropriate terminology without risk of misunderstanding Confident to ask local staff for reasonable access to equipment requiring attention Able to give essential local advice and training on correct use and operation of equipment when necessary if damage has been caused by misuse Able to prepare written operational instructions for equipment on ad hoc basis when necessary Able to understand and follow electrical engineering manuals and engineering drawings, methods statements, permits to work, COSHH hazard warnings and data sheets, Approved Codes of Practice etc.
Able to report facts to Team Leaders with accuracy, using appropriate terminology Be a team player within a highly-skilled and diverse workforce Excellent customer care skills Must be presentable in terms of dress - uniform and badge provided Must be professional, punctual and reliable Analytical & Judgement Skills Essential Able to understand and follow electrical engineering manuals and engineering drawings, methods statements, permits to work, COSHH hazard warnings and data sheets, Approved Codes of Practice, etc.
Able to fault-find within complex systems Able to write simple reports Able to identify training requirements to maximise performance through various processes, appraisals, etc Desirable IOSH/NEBOSH
