The team aims to meet national and local targets set for the uptake of all immunisations and raise awareness across all communities within Northumberland, North Tyneside, Newcastle and Gateshead.
The post holder will work in a variety of settings, including schools, clinics and community venues to deliver the school aged immunisation programme.Please note we reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date once the required number of suitable applications have been received Main duties of the job All applicants must be a first level nurse.
The post holder must have the ability to adapt to service need.
The successful post holder must be able to role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the Trust.The post holder will support with improving the uptake rate and safe delivery of a large scale immunisation programme within community and educational settings contributing towards the public health agenda by improving health outcomes for children and young people.

Job description Job responsibilities The primary immunisation programme represents a key public health measure which contributes to the reduction of health inequalities and to the achievement of national and local health objectives through the focus on prevention care for school aged children.The post holder will support with improving the uptake rate and safe delivery of a large scale immunisation programme within community and educational settings contributing towards the public health agenda by improving health outcomes for children and young people.
To support the Lead Nurse-Immunisation Team in the delivery of the School aged Public health England immunisation programme across Northumbria Healthcare Trust.To participate in clinical area evaluation, supporting the constant evolution of the school aged child immunisation programmeResponsible for ensuring appropriate client safety and that clinical governance indicators and measures are in place in accordance with organisational strategy, policies and procedures.To provide support for children, young people and their families to enable them to access the immunisation programme through informed consent for vaccination.To liaise with partner agencies to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the immunisation programme by meeting the needs of all client groups; schools, both mainstream and special schools, home educated children and GPs.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential 1st Level live NMC Registered Nurse Mentor qualification Desirable City & Guilds 730 teaching qualification Diploma / degree in Nursing RSCN/Child branch qualification Other requirements Essential It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving license and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role.
However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role
