Experience with Java (ideally 17), Spring Boot, Microservices and Kafka is needed for this role.The day to day:Become a Integral member of a high-performing Agile team, contributing to the shaping and development of esure's future.Design and construct digital and technical products.Collaborate within a team to set the technical direction for supported products.Engage in greenfield development, constructing internal and external APIs from the ground up.Establish a robust automated test suite for seamless integration into a continuous deployment environment.Provide 2nd line support for applications and platforms, occasionally beyond regular office hours.Actively drive the enterprise Agile and transformation journey.Identify and address areas for technical product improvement and tackle opportunities for reducing technical debt.Challenge existing processes to improve departmental efficiency and ways of working.QualificationsWe would love you to bringDeveloper experience in scaled Agile, with delivery partners and 3rd party applicationsStrong technical expertise in Java, Sprint Boot and Microservices.Proficient in Spring Boot; Apache Kafka experienceis desirableExpertise in microservices, database programming, event streaming, and queueing technologies in a cloud-based environmentEffective communication of technical concepts to non-technical audiencesWorked on technical projects within cross-functional teamsKnowledge and practice of code quality techniques like continuous integration, unit testing, and peer reviewsRapid research and adaptation to new programming tools and techniquesExperience in building and scaling high-traffic websites or mission-critical line-of-business systemsAutomated integration and acceptance testing experience, preferably with a BDD frameworkAdditional InformationThis is your opportunity to shape our game-changing journey and be part of something truly special
