Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA, Reading and Vocab) Location: South Shields Start Date: January 2025 Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time An Ofsted rated GOOD Primary School in South Shields is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from January 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed individual to make a significant impact on students' learning and development within a supportive and dynamic educational environment.
Key Responsibilities: Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
Lead small group interventions and support individual students to enhance their learning.
Cover classes and deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the teacher.
Support the development of students' literacy and numeracy skills.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to assess students' progress and provide feedback.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of educational programs and activities.
Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Requirements: HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience working in a primary school setting.
Strong understanding of the national curriculum and educational frameworks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Passion for supporting students' learning and development.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one prior to commencing the role).
Desirable: Experience in delivering small group interventions and one-to-one support.
Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) and strategies to support students with additional needs.
First Aid training or willingness to undertake training.
