Plastics Dressing Nurse Specialist

Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Plastic Specialist Dressings Nurse in the outpatient team based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.If you are passionate about point of care delivery and working within the specialised field of Plastic dressings then please apply.
Main duties of the job To provide Outpatients a plastics dressing clinic focused on patient assessment, management, advise and monitoring.To actively participate in educational interventions to patients encouraging holisticpatient care.To provide specialist nursing contribution and professional advice to the clinicalmanagement of patients wounds, to patients and other health professionalsTo liaise with the clinicians both Plastic Surgeons and other specialities who referpatients to the clinic regarding the appropriate management of individual patientsDocumentation of all actions and conversations from the clinic, using evolveManagement of discharges and decisions to follow up using Medway.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications Essential Degree in related field (or equivalent experience) RN (adult) Desirable Completion of appropriate management and leadership programme Skills & Knowledge Essential Ability to communicate clearly and effectively communicate on the telephone and face to face in English Managerial and leadership ability Knowledge of plastics dressings Desirable Knowledge of health and safety issues and policies Experience in researching improvements and developments in desired field.
Experience Essential Experience of teaching Trained Nurses, Health Care assistants and students Experience in wound care and plastic dressings Desirable Experience of working in an outpatient setting.
