Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Theatre Support Worker to deliver high standard of cost-effective nursing care, as part of a nursing team in support of and under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Operating Department Practitioner's (ODP).You will communicate effectively at all times and in conjunction with other team members contribute to maintaining the theatre department philosophy.
Main duties of the job We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Full time Health Care Support Worker Band 3 within the Operating Department at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen.Applicants must be enthusiastic and hard-working individuals who are looking to play an integral part in the Peri-operative services.
Provide information and support to junior/ less experienced staff to contribute to their own personal development and role.The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team of practitioners, providing support to the registered staff.
Applicants must possess/ be prepared to work towards the NVQ - Level III Care Qualification, and / or have previous experience in a caring environment.A flexible approach to working and a caring nature, together with effective organisational and communication skills are essential.
Hours of duty include standard internal shift rotation and an on-call commitment.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and / or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.Interviews will be held on 11/12/24 About us Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties.

We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest.Five community hospitals: Amman Valley Hospital and Llandovery Hospital in Carmarthenshire, Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire.Two integrated care centres (Aberaeron and Cardigan, Ceredigion).Community facilities, including: 48 General Practices (GP surgeries), 49 Dental Practices, 98 Community Pharmacies (chemists), 44 General Ophthalmic Practices (including eye health and low vision services), 38 sites providing mental health and learning disability services, care within your own homes.Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge Essential Qualification Credit Framework - QCF Diploma level 3 (formally NVQ level 3 (Health)) or equivalent experience Level 3 in Health within one year of appointment or ILM level 3 or equivalent qualification such as E-learning modules Desirable Be prepared to work towards achieving the QCF Diploma Experience Essential Previous experience in the NHS inclusive of healthcare activities and experience in a theatre and/or Endoscopy environment Maintain their personal development Recognises need for lifelong learning Desirable Experience in theatre and endoscopy field Language Skills Desirable Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
