If yes, then the occupational therapy team at the QE Hospital Birmingham, want to hear from you.You will have the opportunity to experience rotations within the areas of major trauma, acute medicine, specialist surgery, oncology & haematology, health care for older people, stroke and neurosciences, as well as the Norman Power Unit which is based off site.The successful applicant should have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and the ability to work autonomously in a busy hospital environment.Organisational and time management skills are essential.
You will need to have experience of working within the Acute NHS.On joining the team, you will have access to regular clinical supervision, support to complete the 12-month preceptorship programme, and a range of CPD opportunities including in-house training.You will have the opportunity to use your sound clinical knowledge and experience, and to work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team.This post comes with the support of our team and managers.
This is extended by support from our School of Nursing, AHPs and Midwifery.

Main duties of the job On each rotation you will work autonomously to manage a clinical caseload with support.
You should have excellent communication skills and a flexible approach.
Excellent organisational and time management skills are essential.
You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team.The individual will have essential prioritisation skills and demonstrate client centred practice and demonstrate an understanding of the OT process within the Acute Hospital setting.You should provide evidence of relevant courses and training as well as commitment to ongoing CPD.
You will be supported to complete the 12-month preceptorship programme if you have not already done so.
You will receive regular supervision as well as annual appraisals.The individual should have relevant clinical experience specific to the post, and you will need to have experience of working within the Acute NHS.We want you to feel a sense of belonging, community, commitment and support whilst working at UHB.

*A levels or equivalent qualification *Good standard of general education including GCSE maths and English grade C and above.
*Evidence of CPD Desirable *Member of RCOT Experience Essential *Demonstrates relevant clinical experience within an NHS Acute setting.
*Demonstrates clinical knowledge and awareness relevant to the Acute Trust.
*Demonstrates an experience and understanding of the importance of team working.
*Demonstrates a knowledge of OT processes & treatment Planning *Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of Clinical Governance *Demonstrates an understanding of evidence based practice.
*HCPC and Professional Standards and Professional Rules of Conduct.
Additional Criteria Essential *Demonstrates good clinical reasoning skills and problem solving skills *Good written and verbal communication skills including an ability to provide and receive, sensitive and contentious information.
*An ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
*An ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
*IT skills -- computer literate in email, Word & PowerPoint *Demonstrate a professional attitude.
*An ability to cope with moving/manoeuvring patients/equipment on a daily basis.
*An ability to frequently concentrate on patient assessments and treatments.
*An ability to cope with occasional exposure to distressing/emotional situations.
