GSL Education are working with a secondary school in Portsmouth to recruit a Full-Time Teacher of Health & Social Care / PSHE .
This exciting opportunity will involve delivering engaging and high-quality lessons to students in Key Stage 3 & 4 in both Health & Social Care and Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Education (PSHE) .

This role is perfect for qualified Health & Social Care teachers or those with experience teaching PSHE who are passionate about educating students on topics related to health, well-being, and social care.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and informative lessons in Health & Social Care and PSHE to Key Stage 3 & 4 students.
Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of students and ensures they understand key concepts in health, social care, personal responsibility, and well-being.
Plan and prepare lessons, assessments, and resources that align with national curriculum requirements.
Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable discussing sensitive topics related to health and personal development.
Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic and personal growth.
Encourage students to explore careers in healthcare , social work , and public services , offering guidance and support where appropriate.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a well-rounded, integrated curriculum that supports students' overall development.
Promote mental health awareness , healthy lifestyles , and personal responsibility both inside and outside the classroom.
Qualifications and Requirements: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent is essential.
A degree or relevant qualification in Health & Social Care , PSHE , or a related field.
Experience teaching Health & Social Care and/or PSHE at Key Stage 3 & 4 is desirable.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
A passion for teaching and supporting students' personal development.
Ability to plan and deliver effective, engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
Valid Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education).
An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
Right to work in the UK.
Must be within a 10-mile radius of Portsmouth (PO1, PO10, PO12, PO13).
Skills: Ability to deliver high-quality lessons in both Health & Social Care and PSHE .
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
Knowledge of current issues in health education , social care , and personal development .
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to assess and track student progress effectively.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting students' welfare.
