Job summary Due to the expansion of the service, we have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and dedicated clinical nurse specialist with a focus on stem cell transplant, to join the haematology team at The Christie Hospital.
The CNS post holder will work within the busy and dynamic team providing exceptional care, supporting both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
The applicant should have haematology experience to be able to support the wide haematology service, and management responsibility of the band 6s Haematology CNS team.
Main duties of the job To provide a comprehensive service for patients with acute and chronic malignant haematological disorders.
You will provide expert care, advice and support to patients receiving treatment on in-patient and out-patient basis and to their families and as a resource to other staff.This roles includes clinical duties, the development and leadership of nurse-led clinics to provide for the needs of the patients and their families.
You will also work closely and support the Haematology Consultants and ACP team About us The Christie is one of Europe's leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year.

Job description Job responsibilities DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide evidence based individualized patient care according to patients changing healthcare needs.Provide clinical leadership and expertise in haematology oncology and act as a resource to patients and staff.Assess patient`s adverse events to therapy to enable appropriate management and symptom control.Be the key worker for a clinical case load and facilitate the co-ordination of patients.Develop and review patient information.Maintain skills in advanced communication for all aspects of patient assessment, care and support.Actively participate in multi- professional meetings, acting as the patient advocate and representing nursing views.Practice evidence based healthcare and be responsible for developing clinical policies where appropriate.Accept and make appropriate referrals to multi- professional disciplinary team and take action if clinically indicatedIndependent Non-Medical prescribing supports this practice Strategic Strategic planning, education, research and audit are key components of this role.Contribute to the collection of quantitative and qualitative data, utilizing this data by providing written reports when required which provide evidence of productivity, outcomes and quality.Actively integrate research, theory and practice by undertaking surveys or audits.Undertake service reviews, and planning for improvements of the service.Participate in the development of trust policy and clinical guidelines within haematology.Actively participates in multi- professional meetings, acting as the patient advocate and representing nursing views.Demonstrates the agreed set of values and accountable for own attitude and behaviour.
