Job summary The Blood Stocks Management Scheme (BSMS) is an integral part of the NHS blood supply chain.
Its core role is to promote best practice with respect to blood product inventory management in the UK blood services and hospitals.
Central to the BSMS is the data management system (VANESA), the repository for blood product stocks data from all participating hospitals and blood services.
This is a national vacancy, the successful candidate may be based at any of our main centres in the UK, final location to be agreed at interview.
Main duties of the job Main duties of the jobTo provide novel and complex data analysis on data gathered by the Blood Stocks Management Scheme (BSMS) and other parts of the blood supply chain.To report on the data through a variety of media in an effective and meaningful way.To contribute to the development of strategies to improve blood supply management in NHSBT.To support BSMS participants in blood stocks inventory management, answer queries, create bespoke reports and deliver presentations for BSMS eventsTo develop and enhance the BSMS through the development and use of interactive software and various other software solutions.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Degree in a numerate discipline.
Post-graduate or equivalent in statistical/numerate discipline.
Experience Essential Demonstrate experience in the use of analytical, reporting, and statistical software Power BI, R, SAS, SPSS, S+, Microsoft Access, Excel, SQL server and Business objects.
Experienced in using programming language such as SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL.
Experience of presenting complex information in a variety of formats to a wide range of audiences including verbal presentation and written reports.
