Job Title Post-Mortem Technician Estimated Salary: £32,220 Location: APHA Weybridge, Surrey, UK About the Role This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic role as part of the high disease containment post-mortem team within the Pathology and Animal Sciences Department.
You will be supporting the crucial work of a dedicated agency that tackles disease and ensures the health of animals throughout the UK.
Main Responsibilities In this role, you will provide support for the ante and post-mortem examination of large animals and poultry through sampling, humane euthanasia of livestock using appropriate methods, and assisting with tissue location/sampling as required by experimental protocols.
You will also be responsible for safely transferring and submitting samples from the post-mortem room to relevant laboratory facilities following Good Laboratory Practices.
About You To succeed in this role, you will need experience working in a scientific environment and dissection/anatomy skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are essential, along with motivation, proficiency in common software applications, and a BTEC HNC/BSc degree or equivalent technical qualifications in biological/biomedical/bioveterinary science.
