Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist- Osteoporosis

This is a fulltime, permanent post of 37 hours per week.You will be based within the South West Sector on a full time permanent basis and shift pattern is variable Monday - Friday as the service requirements dictate.UK NMC Registration is required.As a Team Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist, the post holder will be responsible for the assigned Bone Metabolism service, clinically, professionally and managerially.
Within this senior role you will have current and significant experience, preferably working as a Clinical nurse specialist within the Bone Metabolism service, preferably have extended skills such as non-medical prescribing (NMP) & Clinical assessment ( although not essential)and have relevant knowledge on service requirements to facilitate as a change agent to improve quality.You will have the ability to focus on leadership, teaching, research & audit to deliver specialist care within various setting/ hospitals in GG&C as the service requires whilst contributing towards shaping future service improvements.
You will work autonomously within the nursing, medical and multi-professional team, consult in nurse led clinics and manage a small team of nurse specialists to ensure a high standard of care is maintained.
It is essential you have the knowledge and skill set to competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care to support patient compliance particularly with complex treatment regimes.
You will possess substantial senior clinical experience with a high level of interpersonal, managerial & leadership skills creating a supportive ethos to ensure appropriate learning opportunities are met for staff development, participate in service change and encourage best practice to deliver a high quality of care to both in-patients and out-patients within various hospital sitesYou must have the ability to work independently as a Bone Metabolism nurse specialist and possess confident communication skills to manage & support this specific client group.
You will be experienced in staff rota regulation, financial budget control, staff appraisals, formal absence reviews /management and ensure the team works within regulated NMC policies.
You will be responsible for consultancy, teaching, audit, research, participate in service development in conjunction with the Lead nurse and maintain service objectives to meet the changing demands of delivering specialized care across defined areas You will be responsible to engage with various teams, hospital clinicians and general practitioners to maintain excellent clinical links between these services.Details on how to contact the Recruitment Service can be found within the Candidate Information Packs.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.
This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.

However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
