Job summary We are looking to recruit a Teaching Lead for Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
This role offers a 3 year secondment with the possibility of extending this for a further 2 years.
This role will be EMC which equates to 2 hours per week and £5000 per annum.
Main duties of the job This post is created to enhance the training and development of ST 1/2 residents within the School of Obstetrics and Gynaecology across Thames Valley.
The Teaching lead for ST 1/2 will work closely with the ST 1/2 Training Programme Director and support the Head of School, maintaining professional and managerial accountability to them.
The role is designed to ensure that ST 1/2 residents have access to necessary training opportunities that meet their basic curriculum requirements.
This includes curriculum mapping and ensuring appropriate use of the ePortfolio.
Collaboration with College Tutors and Educational Supervisors will be essential in this process.

Job description Job responsibilities The Teaching lead will also be responsible for monitoring and documenting trainees performance in the part 1 MRCOG exam, providing feedback to the school board, and contributing to the Annual Report.
Additionally, they will work alongside the ultrasound training coordinator to facilitate the completion of basic ultrasound modules as specified in the curriculum.
Providing advice and guidance to ST 1/2 trainees, including career counselling, is a key aspect of this role.
The Teaching lead will act as an advisor regarding the use of the ePortfolio, liaising with the RCOG when necessary.
Furthermore, this position requires attendance at annual teaching meetings and deputising for the Head of School at RCOG or NHSE TV meetings.
Involvement in quality management visits is also expected.
As the Teaching Lead for ST1-2 Teaching, this role is integral to the development and delivery of educational programs for junior trainees in O&G.
The post is for 3 years with a possibility of a 2-year extension.
The post holder will be a member of the School Board and is expected to attend regular meetings (approximately 3 per year).
The post holder will also participate in various Board activities, including: National appointment process Annual Review of Competence Progression ATSM selection panels Contributing to the Annual Report Previous experience in educational program coordination, trainee assessment, and curriculum development would be beneficial for candidates in this role.
