Job summary Applications are invited for 2 prestigious posts of consultant within the Department of Radiology at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is to support the development of a new on-site diagnostic outpatient facility comprising 5 MRIs, 4 CTs, 2 plain film rooms and 2 US rooms.
The Department forms part of one of the most dynamic University Teaching Hospitals in the country, with an excellent reputation in patient care, research and development, and staff training/education.
Main duties of the job Key responsibilities of this post include reporting general and specialist radiology, performing image guided biopsies and drainages, and participating in MDTs, teaching and research.
Applicants with any subspecialty interest will be considered but preference will be given to candidates with an interest in a cardiac imaging, chest imaging, ENT or GI subspecialties to support the anticipated workload of the new facility.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to pursue research interests in the areas of radiology and collaborative work with the University of East Anglia.

Full GMC with licence to practise required on application.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT in clinical radiology (Proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview), CESR, European Community Rights or an appropriate higher qualification.
Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
FRCR or equivalent.
Desirable MRCP/FRCS Aptitudes Essential Good communicator.
Capable of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
Enthusiasm for service development and teaching.
Demonstrates understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
Desirable Previous responsibility for service improvement.
Management skills.
Experience Essential Awareness of the role of research in clinical practice.
Extensive Imaging experience including experience in an area of subspecialty interest.
Image guided biopsy and drainage experience as documented by specialist training or experience at consultant level.
Applicants who are Nationals from another European country or elsewhere overseas would have to show equivalence to the 5 years training period in the National Health Service required for the specialty.
Desirable Completed specialist Fellowship Experience in research or published papers in area of special interest Further area of interest to compliment current service Circumstances Essential Flexible outlook on working hours.
Must live within a 15-mile radius of the base Trust or 30 minutes travelling time.
Ability to travel across multi-sites whilst public transport may not be available.
Communications and Language Skills Essential Ability to communicate effectively with clinical colleagues and support staff across the organisation.
Ability to present effectively to an audience, using a variety of methods, and to respond to questions and queries.
Desirable Good presentation skills.
Interests Essential Commitment to develop an appropriate special interest.
