Job Description We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team in Godalming, United Kingdom.
As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing sushi dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.
Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, maki, and speciality rolls Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients, including raw fish and seafood Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely food preparation Create visually stunning sushi presentations that delight our customers Manage inventory and stock levels of sushi ingredients Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques Develop new sushi recipes and contribute to menu planning Provide excellent customer service, including addressing dietary requirements and preferences Maintain knowledge of current food trends and incorporate them into sushi offerings Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef in a restaurant or food service setting In-depth knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and sushi preparation techniques Excellent knife skills and ability to create visually appealing sushi presentations Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail Excellent teamwork and communication skills Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings (from 6am) Enthusiasm and passion for creating high-quality sushi dishes Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively Customer-focused attitude with a friendly and professional demeanour Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and recipes Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Reliable transportation for commuting to work Food Safety certification (desirable) Basic English language skills Additional Information In return we offer you Ability to join a Company which is passionate about sustainability of our products and the planet, while supporting those who make our working lives possible.
