We are looking for a Central Transport Planner based at our flagship Rugby Hub to create, execute and review daily transport plans for the Hub Transport Execution Teams to resource and operate against.
You will be responsible for amending the transport plans through direct communication with our clients, depot & Hub Transport Teams, ensuring plans are achievable, cost effective and deliver a premium service.
manage and optimize the operational network by analysing real-time data and forecasting end-to-end network performance.

You will be accountable for: Producing Hub Transport plans using transport planning software.
Continual review and improvement of transport plan templates to ensure cost effectiveness and optimal resource utilisation.
Building a weekly high view trunk forecast to publish to the network.
Continuously improving the accuracy of plans Compiling plan vs actual data, statistics, and reports, evidencing challenges to operational teams to ensure plans remain effective.
Providing cost analysis on potential new transport activity and model business change for area of responsibility.
Creating peak hub transport plans, ensuring capacity and cost efficiency is assured for area of responsibility.
Running business reports when required.
To be successful in this role you will require the following… Strong analytical skills and computer literacy Experience of Transport Planning systems Transport operations, driver legislation and related processes Leading and supporting a team Microsoft Office including Excel Data manipulation and analytical capabilities, lateral thinking Communication and influencing, a relationship builder.
Confident in challenging stakeholders and public relations Independent, with ability to organise workload and maintain deadlines under own initiative.
