Rental ExecutiveFull Time - PermanentSalary : - Negotiable on experienceHours: -44.75 per week(Monday – Friday 8am – 5.30pm, 1 in 2 Saturdays 8am – 12.30pm)Rent Direct is part of Grainger Motor Group, on of the fastest growing, family run dealer groups in the UK.Rent Direct is expanding, and we're on the hunt for an enthusiastic and professional Rental Executive to join our team at our bustling Cambridge branch.This is your chance to become an integral part of a dynamic and supportive team, delivering exceptional service and contributing to the success of our ever-growing vehicle rental business.What You'll Be DoingAs a Rental Executive, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the rental department.
Reporting to the Rental Supervisor and the Group Rental Manager, you'll be a driving force behind the department's success.Your responsibilities will include:Customer Engagement: Swiftly and professionally answering calls, responding to email reservations, and providing clear information about ID requirements, vehicle suitability, and terms of hire.Revenue Generation: Maximising rental income and increasing the on-rent count by upselling services and identifying customer needs.Vehicle Handover: Being the first point of contact for customers collecting vehicles.
This includes completing paperwork, explaining terms, conducting damage inspections, and ensuring the hire process runs seamlessly.Administrative Excellence: Completing essential daily administrative tasks, from managing bookings to processing hire documents and updating systems accurately.Delivery & Logistics Planning: Organising delivery and collection schedules, coordinating with drivers and valeters, and ensuring vehicles are delivered clean, on time, every time.Damage Inspection: Carefully inspecting vehicles with customers before and after hire, following clear processes for recording and handling any damage.To be successful you will preferably have:Experience: A background in vehicle rental or a closely related service industry (e.g., hotel reception or customer-facing roles) is advantageous.Customer Service Skills: A proven ability to deliver excellent service, quickly build rapport, and maintain professionalism at all times.Communication Skills: Fluent English with a strong telephone manner and the ability to engage confidently with customers.IT and Maths Proficiency: Comfortable using IT systems and handling basic mathematical tasks, such as pricing calculations.Driving Licence: A Full UK Driving Licence is essential.Time Management: The ability to stay organised and handle pressure in a fast-moving environment.A Team Spirit: Someone who's proactive, professional, and eager to contribute to a customer-focused, high-performance culture.Why EMG/ Grainger Motor Group?Career DevelopmentCompany Events and a nurturing and caring working environmentCompany CarStaff discount for friends and familyAt EMG / Grainger Motor Group, we take pride in our identity as a family-run and owned business, we cherish our people and their contribution to our success.Our vision is to 'be the best' at what we do and we recognise that our staff are the most important asset to our business - success is only achieved through our people.
