Space Forge is a fast-growing advanced materials company.
Our goal is to exploit the extreme temperature, microgravity and ultra-high vacuum conditions available in low earth orbit (LEO) to manufacture materials that cannot readily be grown terrestrially.
Returning these materials to earth, we aim to revolutionise the semiconductor market and to make space work for humanity.
To achieve this we have developed a range of technologies including the world's first returnable and reusable satellite platform, the ForgeStar.
We are looking for a Systems Developer to join our dynamic team.
This role is pivotal in driving our software solutions across various technologies and platforms, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
What will you do?
Developing solutions to serve a diverse range of internal needs Collaborating with project teams to design and implement effective systems Conducting testing and validation to ensure solutions meet performance requirements Key responsibilities Creating and maintaining new internal products to support operations Documenting design, architecture, and code functionality to promote knowledge sharing and clarity Regularly updating software components and participating in code reviews to ensure high-quality output Essential Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages (including TypeScript, Java, Python and C#) Experience building front-end (using frameworks like Vue, React, etc) Experience in using CI/CD tools (such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) Good understanding of software architecture and design patterns Experience in using collaboration tools like Jira Experience with software development methodologies and tools for version control (e.g., Git).
Desirable Familiarity with containerisation technologies (e.g.
Docker) Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) Experience with Agile development methodologies Knowledge of microservices architecture Prior experience in the high tech industries Soft skills Able to communicate with teams working both in and out of the office; Able to communicate professionally with customers and external stakeholders; Resilient and adaptable to technical and non-technical roadblocks, as many are expected At Space Forge, we believe in creating the best possible workplace that suits every single person that joins us.
Flexitime hours - 40 to be worked across Monday-Sunday as fits both your needs and the needs of the role - This role will be a hybrid set up, with 1 day minimum on-site a week.
