Job Title: Recycling Operative Department: Waste Management / Recycling Location: Staines Salary:£11.50 per hour Hours: Night shift.
5pm - 4am Job Purpose To assist in the collection, sorting, and processing of recyclable materials to ensure compliance with recycling standards and contribute to environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities 1.Collection and Sorting: Manually sort recyclable materials such as paper, plastics, metals, and glass.
Operate machinery, such as balers, compactors, or conveyor belts, to process materials.
Ensure correct segregation of waste and recyclables.
2.Site Maintenance: Keep recycling areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment.
3.Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety procedures to prevent accidents.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Report hazards or equipment malfunctions promptly.
4.Teamwork and Reporting: Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet daily targets.
Complete relevant documentation and reports.
Essential Requirements Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Awareness of health and safety regulations.
