Get in touch ROLE OVERVIEW Join GRIDSERVE as a Geospatial Analyst who will support the Geospatial Manager in building and maintaining GRIDSERVE's GIS infrastructure with a primary focus on optimising the company's Network Plan and other objectives for the full life-cycle development and operation of Electric Forecourt, E-Hubs and Solar Farms.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Analysis Carrying out bespoke geospatial analysis to assess and report on commercial viability of locations, customer demographic profiles and other ad hoc analysis as requested by the Geospatial Manager, Chief Development Officer or other departments within the organisation.
Data and Database Management Maintaining and updating the company's Geospatial data resources held in ArcGIS and SQL Server Creating and publishing map resources in ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online to support company activities Advanced GIS editing of data in support of wider team activities Writing scripts to automate GIS and back-end database tasks Production of high-quality map outputs for legal documents and promotional material Helping to proactively identify new potential data sources useful to the pursuit of company objectives Stakeholder Engagement Supporting, training, and mentoring of GIS users at all levels throughout the company Other Contributing to the constant update of Geospatial capabilities in response to company objectives including: Keeping up to date with and applying technological advances and best practice Seeking out and utilising new potentially useful geospatial and other datasets Assist in other related duties as and when requested by GRIDSERVE Executive Team Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System, compliant with ISO standards PERSON SPECIFICATION Required experience Significant experience in the use and administration of ESRI ArcGIS suite of products Significant experience in geospatial data analysis Required skills and abilities Ability to train, mentor and support GIS users of varying abilities Very strong attention to detail Strong planning and time management abilities Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders The ability to foster self-motivation to achieve tight deadlines Effective communication both verbally and in written form including the ability to explain technical and systems information clearly and concisely for a range of audiences Expert level technical skills with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop including ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcMap Expert level technical skills with ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS online including data maintenance and development of web maps, custom web applications and dashboards Expert level geospatial analysis techniques Advanced level SQL server database administration Advanced level T-SQL scripting Advanced level ArcGIS Server Geodatabase design and administration Expert level knowledge of UK geospatial data resources Expert level knowledge of map projections, transformations, their applicability Expert level MS Excel Advanced level MS Access Proficient user of Microsoft suite of packages including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, where needed Advanced knowledge of requirements for production of land registry compliant legal plans Expert level cartographic design Advanced level data presentation techniques Expert level knowledge of requirements for production of land registry compliant legal plans Required qualifications and certifications Degree level education in GIS, Geography or a related subject Full UK driving license Equal Opportunity statement: GRIDSERVE is committed to being an Equal Opportunity Employer.
