Job Advertisement: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) Location :Oldham Position : SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) Contract Type :Full-time Start Date : January 2025 Salary : £13.20-£15 per hour We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student in Key Stage 3/4 at our partner secondary school in Oldham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a student with special educational needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support for a student with specific learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and engage in school activities.
Support the student's social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and building confidence.
Work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to implement individualised learning plans and adapt teaching strategies.
Assist with monitoring and tracking the student's progress, reporting observations and concerns to the SENCO.
Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Foster a positive and encouraging relationship with the student to help them develop both academically and socially.
Requirements: Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a secondary school setting.
Understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A proactive approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality in education.
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable, though not essential.
Desirable: Experience working with students with specific learning difficulties, autism, or emotional and behavioural needs.
Familiarity with strategies and interventions for supporting students with SEN. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
