Job Description We are currently seeking a Cloud Architect to join our IT team at our Rugby site. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on Microsoft Azure, and a solid understanding of other major cloud providers such as AWS and GCP.
You will also take on the responsibility for developing and implementing cloud strategies and standards, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological advancements.
The role will also have a governance element and will join the weekly architecture review boards.
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm offering a competitive salary and package with the opportunity to work for a forward thinking market leader.
Job responsibilities of a Cloud Architect include: Develop and implement comprehensive cloud strategies and standards.
Design and architect scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions primarily on Microsoft Azure, with a strong understanding of AWS and GCP.
Collaborate with technical SMEs and communicate effectively with C-suite executives to ensure cloud strategies align with business goals.
Lead the adoption of Agile and DevOps practices with internal teams and partners.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members and stakeholders.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in cloud computing.
Lead and deliver advisory services and assurance to programs/projects, driving prioritisation of enterprise-wide initiatives.
Analyse and evaluate emerging technology while driving continuous improvements.
Qualifications To apply for the role of Cloud Architect you will possess the following skills, experiences and qualifications: Proven experience as a Cloud Architect with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
Strong understanding of AWS and GCP.
Experience in developing and implementing cloud strategies and standards.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to balance the long-term (big picture) and short-term implications of individual decisions.
Organisationally savvy, with an understanding of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and politics.
Certifications in Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
Knowledge of containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences.
