Mechanical Estimator Mechanical Engineering Contractor Permanent: Up to £80,000 + Package Based in Maidenhead We are currently seeking a Mechanical Estimator for a leading specialist Mechanical Engineering Contractor based in Maidenhead.
This contractor is recognised for their expertise in designing, producing, and installing prefabricated mechanical packages for industries such as data centers, semiconductors, and pharmaceuticals throughout the UK and Europe.
The role will involve preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical packages, including Plantroom Mechanical Skids, Packaged Plantrooms, Mechanical Service Modules, and Prefab Pipework.
The Mechanical Estimator will work closely with the project management, design, and commercial teams to ensure project bids are competitive and aligned with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities: - Analyse project specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Work with internal teams to gather information on materials, labour, and other relevant costs.
- Prepare and present bid proposals, including detailed breakdowns of costs, to management and clients.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain and update cost databases to support future estimates.
- Monitor project budgets and track cost performance for ongoing projects as necessary.
Requirements: - 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator or in a related role.
- Experience in data centre, semiconductor, or pharmaceutical industries is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
